Remuneration: TASK Level 15 of a Grade 2 Municipality

(R379 811 - R498 006 per annum)

Minimum requirements: • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Science or advanced diploma/NQF level 7 in a related field • At least 5 years’ experience in a management position at Middle Management level, including in leading transformation in an organisation and social development practices

• Compliance with the MFMA: Minimum Competency Levels in unit standards as per Government Notice No 29967 of June 2007 and Government Notice No 21, Gazette 37245 of 17 January 2014. A person who does not meet the minimum competency levels in unit standards will be given an opportunity to attain the minimum competency levels within 18 months of date of appointment.

Duties: • Provide strategic leadership, direct and manage key performance and result indicators in the Economic and Social Development Units • Manage the social development interventions of the Municipality • Develop, coordinate and implement business planning process, performance management, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms with regard to development, implementation of related policies and strategies • Manage the Extended Public Works Programme of the Municipality • Manage the sport and youth interventions of the Municipality • Create a conducive environment for economic development to happen • Assist the previously disadvantaged to come into main stream economics • Recruit investment into area • Investigate and facilitate tourism development • Promote industrial, business and skills development.
