POSITIONS FOR MEMBERS OF VALUATION APPEAL BOARD
In terms of Section 56 of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act 6 of 2004, applications are hereby awaited from suitable qualified persons to be appointed by the Western Cape, MEC for Local Government to serve as members of the valuation appeal board for Cape Agulhas Municipality.
COMPOSITION OF THE VALUATION APPEAL BOARD
The Valuation Appeal Board consists of a chairperson and four members.
REQUIREMENTS (Section 58)
Chairperson: Must be a person with legal qualifications and sufficient experience in the administration of justice;
Other Members: Must be persons with sufficient knowledge of or experience in the valuation of property of which at least one must be a professional valuer registered in terms of the Property Valuers Profession Act, 2000 (Act No. 47 of 2000)
FUNCTIONS OF THE VALUATION APPEAL BOARD
As determent in Sections 52 and 57 of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act 6 of 2004.
REMUNERATION
Remuneration will be made as determined annually by the Minister of Finance in the National Treasury Regulations: Commissions and Committees of Enquiry: Remuneration Tariffs of Non-Official Members. Travel allowance will be based on national tariffs of the Department of Transport.
DISQUALIFICATIONS
As determent in Section 59(1) of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act 6 of 2004.
Eligible persons who wish to be considered for appointment to serve as a member of the Valuation Appeal Board are invited to submit a written application that clearly indicates the position applied for. The application must contain an abridged CV detailing the applicant’s knowledge, experience and suitability for the position, certified copies of the applicant’s qualifications and/or registration. An applicant must also certify that he/she, in terms of section 59 of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act 6 of 2004 is fit to be considered as a candidate.

AANSTELLING VAN LEDE OP WAARDASIE APPèLRAAD
Ingevolge die bepalings van Artikel 56 van die Plaaslike Regering: Wet op Munisipale Eiendomsbelasting, Wet 6 van 2004, word aansoeke hiermee ingewag van geskikte persone wie daarin belangstel om deur die Wes-Kaapse Minister vir Plaaslike Regering aangestel te word om op die waardasie appèlraad vir Kaap Agulhas Munisipaliteit te dien.
SAMESTELLING VAN DIE WAARDASIE APPèLRAAD
Die waardasie appèlraad bestaan uit ‘n voorsitter en vier lede.
VEREISTES ( Artikel 58)
Voorsitter: Moet oor regskwalifikasies sowel as voldoende ondervinding van die toepassing van die reg beskik;
Lede: Moet oor voldoende kennis en/of ondervinding van die waardasie van eiendom beskik en ten minste een van die lede moet as ‘n professionele waardeerder geregistreer wees ingevolge die Wet op Eiendom Waardeerdersprofessie, Wet 47 van 2000.
FUNKSIES VAN DIE WAARDASIE APPèLRAAD
Soos bepaal in Artikels 52 en 57 van die Plaaslike Regering: Wet op Plaaslike Eiendomsbelasting, Wet 6 van 2004.
VERGOEDING
Vergoeding is betaalbaar ooreenkomstig tariewe jaarliks bepaal deur die Minister van Finansies in die Nasionale Tesourie Regulasies: Kommissies en Komitees van Ondersoek: Vergoedingstariewe van Nie-amptelike Lede. Reistoelaes sal gebaseer word op nasionale tariewe van die Departement van Vervoer.
DISKWALIFIKASIE
Soos bepaal in Artikel 59(1) van die Plaaslike Regering: Wet op Munisipale Eiendomsbelasting, Wet 6 van 2004.
Geskikte persone wie daarin belangstel om vir aanstelling as lid van die waardasie appèlraad oorweeg te word, moet ‘n geskrewe aansoek, waarin duidelik vermeld word vir watter posisie aansoek gedoen word, indien. Die aansoek moet ‘n verkorte CV met inligting van die applikant se kennis, ondervinding en geskiktheid vir die posisie, gesertifiseerde afskrifte van die applikant se kwalifikasies en/of registrasie bevat. ‘n Kandidaat moet ook ingevolge Artikel 59 van die Plaaslike Regering: Wet op Munisipale Eiendomsbelasting, Wet 6 van 2004, sertifiseer dat hy/sy geskik is om as kandidaat oorweeg te word.
